Honey Bourbon Bacon Burnt Ends
INGREDIENTS
6 T - granulated honey
4 tsp. - smoked paprika
4 tsp. - chili powder
4 tsp. - granulated garlic
4 tsp. - onion powder
4 tsp. - dried cumin
1 tsp. - dry mustard
6 lbs. - bacon slab, cut into 1/2 inch by 3 inch pieces (36 total)
1 1/2 cup - clover honey
3/4 cup - bacon seasoning
3/4 cup - bourbon
DIRECTIONS
Combine and mix granulated honey, smoked paprika, chili powder, granulated garlic, onion powder, ground cumin, and dry mustard to create the bacon seasoning. To a bowl add bacon slab pieces and season with honey, half of the bacon seasoning, and bourbon. Toss to coat completely. Place in resealable plastic bag and refrigerate overnight or a minimum of 2 hours.
Preheat oven to 375˚F.
Line a half-sheet pan with foil and top with a rack. Remove bacon from marinade and place on prepared baking sheet with a rack, reserving any remaining marinade. Sprinkle with remaining bacon seasoning and bake for 35-45 minutes (turning halfway) until tender and crispy.
