Need a boost during the long, winter months? You’re not alone. In fact, Beverage Industry reports that the energy drinks and mixes category is growing in the double-digit range. Energy drinks were a hit through the 52-week period that ended in June, with more than $11.7 billion in sales, according to Information Resources Inc. (IRI).

All-natural ingredients such as honey mark the height of innovation and consumer demand in the category. Honey is a natural source of carbohydrates, providing 17 grams per tablespoon, which makes it ideal fuel for working muscles, making it an ideal ingredient for both energy drinks and ready-to-drink (RTD) coffee.

Beverage Marketing Corporation (BMC)’s report predicts that the energy drinks market will hit $17.6 billion in 2021 and grow to $18.3 billion in 2022, hopefully due in part to the success of these made with honey beverages.
